An Introduction from Our New Senior Executive
My name’s Alan and I joined SarcoidosisUK at the start of January as Senior Executive. For now, Jack and I will be job sharing before he moves to becoming a trustee of the charity.
I am absolutely delighted to have joined such an energetic and driven charity. I have always believed that small charities can make a huge difference and punch above their weight and from what I can see SarcoidosisUK certainly does that!
I’ve already been amazed by the passion and dedication of the people that support us. From the volunteers running vital support groups across the country to the fantastic fundraisers organising events, everyone is doing their bit. Seeing the fundraising that people do to find a cure and ensure that others have support is both an inspiration and a reminder of the devastating effects the disease can have. I’m looking forward to becoming part of this powerful community.
In the past I’ve worked in a range of organisations supporting people going through difficult times in their life. Most recently I was part of the management team at SurvivorsUK supporting men and non-binary people who have experienced sexual assault, sexual abuse or rape. I look forward to bringing my experience of managing and funding these services to SarcoidosisUK to help the charity continue to grow.
If anyone reading this has ideas for the charity and its services that they would like to share, please do reach out. I would love to hear from you. You can contact me on [email protected] or 020 3389 7221.
