SarcoidosisUK was delighted to offer the first of its Research Innovation Awards in 2025. Find out more here.
The Research Innovation Award 2026 application window closed earlier this year and we received five strong applications. We will announce the outcome once the legal process has been completed.
We expect to offer further awards in 2027, offering funding for innovative and novel research proposals that seek to address any of our research priorities:
- Expand the understanding of sarcoidosis.
- Improve diagnosis and prognosis.
- Discover new and better treatments.
- Address quality of life issues for those living with sarcoidosis.
- Sarcoidosis epidemiology in the UK.
Successful proposals will demonstrate the potential of advancement to the sarcoidosis research field and improvement for patients, whether the benefit and impact is short-term or in the future.
This award offers pump-priming/seed funding that will enable the applicant to:
- Kick-start a novel idea.
- Evaluate or expand a novel hypothesis.
- Obtain vital basic data to progress an idea and facilitate further funding applications.
We will award funding for the absolute best research proposals and to exceptional researchers.
The maximum award per proposal will be £60,000 with a duration of no more than eighteen months.
