SarcoidosisUK has officially entered a partnership with the Hopkins motorcycle racing team and their promising young motorcycle racer Luke Hopkins! This will help raise awareness of the charity by:
- Being included on his promotional materials
- Having the charity logo and website URL on his bike with TV coverage of his races
- Having his team wear SarcoidosisUK merchandise (such as T-shirts and wristbands) at selected events in 2020
Luke is just 17 years old, but he is a rising star. Already achieving one championship this year, and in a position to win two more, we are so thrilled to have Luke represent the charity this year in the Superstock 1000 Championship, a support class of the British Superbike Championship (BSB) in 2020.
Approximately 50,000 people attend BSB races! That is a massive audience that will be informed about sarcoidosis and SarcoidosisUK. Furthermore, with the countless articles, social media posts and comprehensive television coverage (including live coverage of Luke’s races on Eurosport and Quest) SarcoidosisUK is now able to reach a whole new audience on a national level. This will make a massive difference in not only raising much needed awareness but also funds for the charity.
Special thanks go to Mike Woodward for organising this sponsorship, with no costs for the charity! This means that all money raised from this partnership can be focused on funding research for a cure. Having done motorbike racing himself, and having stopped due to sarcoidosis, it is amazing to see him supporting a new generation and SarcoidosisUK. Thank you so much!
Aside from awareness, SarcoidosisUK is currently discussing fundraising opportunities to help raise donations to be invested into research for a cure to sarcoidosis.
We are extremely excited about this partnership and the impact this will have for the charity.
